SJCC Summer Camps counsellors are a team of passionate and compassionate staff chosen for their experience, skills and dedication to working with kids.

We provide staff training and professional growth, teaching important skills that can be taken beyond camp and into future jobs. Camp counselors are entrusted with an incredible amount of responsibility and opportunities for developing leadership skills.

A job as a summer camp counselor teaches:

  • An ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to multi-task
  • A strong sense of teamwork
  • An ability to work with all types of people
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills

Counselors are responsible for overall camper safety and well-being and use their creativity to prepare and implement games and activities for a camp group over the course of the summer. Our counsellors develop leadership skills, act as role models, and create lasting memories for themselves and for the campers.
