A Message from SJCC President, Sarah Beutel

Spring is in the air!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the JCC’s recent survey and stakeholder sessions, as part of our strategic planning process. We are grateful for the insights shared by over 500 survey respondents, and the many individuals who engaged in discussions about the future of the JCC. Your input is invaluable as we work to synthesize the information and develop a plan to guide the JCC’s direction for the next 3-4 years. The feedback we received, regarding both our strengths and our weaknesses, helps us to identify and better understand areas for continued improvement in serving our community.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the recent renovations to our downstairs facilities, including the change rooms. A heartfelt thank you to the generous donors who made these improvements possible. As a charitable organization, the JCC relies on donor support to ensure accessibility to membership and programs, so that financial constraints do not prevent anyone from participating. Moreover, without financial support, we would not be able to maintain our facility with high-quality amenities or continue to refresh our well-used space; our goal is to ensure that the JCC remains a welcoming and vibrant space where people want to gather. Your generosity helps us keep the JCC a place that fosters community, connection, and belonging!

We are aware of the request for additional seating in the change rooms and are actively working on a solution. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we ensure the space remains functional and accessible for all.

We live in challenging times, in a world that often feels overwhelming. In the midst of it all, we are grateful for safe spaces like the JCC—places where community, connection, and a sense of belonging provide a much-needed refuge. Like many of you, I deeply value the JCC as a space that offers a break from the noise, a counterpoint to the uncertainties around us, and a reminder of the strength we find in coming together.

In April we celebrate the holiday of Passover, a celebration of freedom, renewal, and the journey from darkness into light. Just as our ancestors moved from oppression to liberation, we too experience this theme in our own lives. Passover reminds us that even in challenging times, there is hope—an opportunity to embrace renewal, reconnect with our traditions, and look forward to a brighter future.

Wishing you a Good Passover, Chag Pesach Sameach! And to those celebrating Easter, happy holiday! May this season of spring bring hope and peace for us all.

We are closed on Good Friday, April 18. We are open on Sunday, April 20 from 8am-4pm.
