The SJCC is closed during the mandated lockdown. Click here for updates.

December 22, 2020

Due to the recent announcement by the Ontario Provincial Government, the Soloway Jewish Community Centre must, unfortunately, close its doors. The Centre will close on December 24 at 4:00 pm and remain closed during the mandated 28-day lockdown.

We encourage everyone to please stay home and follow all of the recent measures that have been put in place so that we may, in the near future, come back to the Soloway JCC.

Memberships will not be put on hold during this time but instead will be extended at your time of renewal. Please email Patrice to have your membership extended.
In the meantime, there are several ways to keep engaged with a variety of virtual programs taking place over the next few months at the SJCC.

Book Festival in Your Living Room continues into January with author Erica Katz on January 14. On January 17 it’s cookbook author chef Lisa Lillien with a live cooking demo and on January 27 Scott Turow discusses The Last Trial. Find more information and purchase tickets here.

The SJCC Cultural & Educational Department has a full roster of programs designed to be experienced from the comfort of your homes such as Searching for Meaning in Midrash with Rabbi Steven Garten and Twenty-First-Century Israeli Literature with Professor Gefen Bar-On Santor. Scott Ship brings us Astronomy 101 – Understanding the Night Sky, Dr. Elliott Tepper is back with a look Behind the Headlines and Chef Ilan Dagan takes us into the kitchen for a cooking demonstration. More information is available here.

Find fitness videos from your favorite SJCC instructors here.
Please check your inbox and our website regularly to stay updated on what’s happening at the Soloway JCC.

We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back to the SJCC soon.
