This leadership development program is designed to empower teens by offering new responsibilities, challenges, and adventures and includes working with younger campers and team-building. Our goals are to provide teens with real-life leadership development and opportunities for growth as role models for the younger campers, while having fun, making friends and enjoying some of the perks of being at camp.

From Left to Right, a child at camp with a furry pink and blue hat is smiling while a camp councellor kneels next to them.

CITs will alternate between spending time with their own group and joining in with younger campers:

  • Become oriented to the CIT role and learn about leadership styles.
  • Participate in leadership development workshops to learn who they are as leaders and polish their skills.
  • Participate in team-building activities to build a CIT community.
  • Experience on-site field trips and special guest
  • Enjoy the perks of camp (swim, play, craft, etc…).
  • Participate in all-camp events and spread the camp spirit, acting as role models from a-far.
  • Create and facilitate games and activities for their peers to workshop for younger campers.
  • Participate in volunteer and community service opportunities through a Jewish lens. CITs can expect to earn anywhere from 20-40 community service hours.
  • Work with the counselors of the camp groups to assist campers.
  • Lead activities and games for campers
  • Go through an evaluation and reflection process to assess personal growth and opportunities for future leadership development.
