This workshop is open to all members of the JCC
It is a widely held belief in the medical community that to live a long, active and healthy life, people, especially seniors, should avoid falling. A bad fall can greatly limit activity, increase dependency on others, and lead to a greatly decreased lifespan.
This workshop on falling safely gives participants the skills they need to avoid a fall, if possible, and if not possible, to fall in a controlled way to lessen the chances of serious injury.
The workshop will also give instructions on how to raise oneself from the floor following a fall.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice the skills they have learned in the workshop if they choose to.
