Vaccination Policy Reminder – September 15, 2021

We are reaching out today to give our members a friendly reminder that beginning on Thursday, September 23, in accordance with the Province of Ontario COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate Program, proof of double vaccination for everyone 12 years old and up, will be required to gain access to the Soloway JCC.

In the case you have not been to the SJCC in a while, please be sure to bring your confirmation of vaccination along with photo ID the next time you are booked in to use our facilities as those who are unable to provide proof, regardless of whether you are vaccinated, will be denied access to the building effective Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Members who are not vaccinated due to medical reasons are asked to please provide a medical exemption from a physician.

SJCC Membership Cards

  • Please remember to bring your SJCC Membership Card with you on each visit. If you don’t have a card, a Front Desk Customer Service Representative will be happy to take your picture and make you a card.
  • Starting on September 23, you will be required to swipe your membership card upon arrival. When you do this the person at the front desk will see your profile on the screen and verify whether or not you have shown your proof of vaccination.
  • If you have not yet provided proof of vaccination, you will be asked to show it prior to being admitted. If we already have you updated in our system it will display on our screen and you will not be asked to show your proof again.

As always, a mask must be worn in all areas of the SJCC, except during exercise, and, please, do not come to the Centre if you are feeling unwell.

If you have questions or concerns about our new vaccination policy please contact SJCC President/COO, Barry Sohn, bsohn@jccottawa.com.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we put this new policy in place.

Vaccination Policy – September 3, 2021

The Soloway Jewish Community Centre has made every effort during the pandemic to keep our facilities clean and to provide a safe place for our community. In our ongoing effort to further reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and as part of the Province of Ontario’s COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate Program, the Soloway JCC will require proof of vaccination for all members 12 years old and up, which will come into effect on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Beginning on September 23 a proof of vaccination will be required in order to gain access to the building. Please come prepared to present either a printout of your vaccination confirmation forms or show a screenshot on your phone as well as a piece of photo ID. Those who are unable to provide proof, regardless of whether you are vaccinated, will be denied access to the building.

Members who are not vaccinated due to medical reasons are asked to please provide a medical exemption from a physician.

Your member profile will be updated in our system letting our Front Desk Customer Service Representatives know that you have shown your confirmation and you will not need to show it each time you enter.

While the new vaccination policy will not take effect until September 23, we encourage you to bring your proof of vaccination with you the next time you are registered to use our facilities so you will be set up in our system when our new policy is in force. Please do not make a special trip to the Centre, as per our policy, you will not be admitted unless you have a reservation.

As always, a mask must be worn in all areas of the SJCC, except during exercise, and, please, do not come to the Centre if you are feeling unwell.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we put this new program in place.
