The Family Life Centre is a new initiative from the Soloway JCC designed to provide young families with a holistic approach to child care through parenting workshops and support as well as interactive classes for parents and children. The Family Life Centre provides a friendly place where families can play and learn together.

Monkey Rock Music

Does your child rock? Then Monkey Rock Music is a must! During this 40-minute musical experience, you and your child will explore music and movement in a stimulating and fun atmosphere. Your child will develop a love of creating and experiencing music that will last a lifetime.

FITMOM and Baby

This popular beginner to athlete program is modified to meet your fitness level. Whether in a baby carrier or lying next to you, your baby will participate in the class and provide progressive resistance to help you get lean and strong. Babies from 4 weeks to 6 1⁄2 months are safest in a front carrier, while older babies are best suited to a back carrier.

Talking Without Voices: Sign Language for Babies and Toddlers

Babies and toddlers want to communicate long before they can speak. Babies as young as six months can use sign language to communicate, and signing can greatly reduce frustration and tantrums for toddlers.

Instructor Anna Grunfeld is a trained sign language interpreter who has worked with children for many years.

Playgroup – With monthly guest speakers

Drop-in playgroup is a great opportunity for parents and kids to relax and make new friends. Enjoy our comfortable space for the babies to explore as well as plenty of room for toddlers to move and play with new toys. The added bonus is you don’t have to clean up!

Enjoy our monthly guest speakers who will engage and inform you on important topics such as nutrition, CPR, budgeting for baby/child and positive discipline. The speaker schedule is available on our blog and by our monthly email calendar.

Shabbat Shalom

Welcome the Sabbath with your child as they learn all about Shabbat and other holidays through crafts, songs, stories and games. Join Bracha Bear for a Shabbat Party and help foster a true love for the holiday in your child’s heart.

Parents Parlour Meetings

Parents are welcome to attend discussion groups where they will meet new friends, share similar experiences and feel connected to others at the same stage of life. Topics will be determined by parents with a facilitator, and may include; nutrition issues, handling stress, power struggles, positive discipline and resource sharing.

Parent & Child Sportball (2 - 3 Years)

This 45 minute program guides parents and their children through the introductory skills of 7 different ball sports. Parents are instructed on how to correctly assist their children in learning the skills of hockey, soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, volleyball and golf. All programs are non-competitive and focus on building confidence.
