Our state-of-the-art Fitness Centre is complete with over 100 of the best fitness machines including Precor treadmills with individual cardio theatre, upright and recumbent bikes, stair climbers, Precor & Life Fitness Cross Trainers, barbells, free weights and a stretching area. Our professionally certified trainers are happy to help you with a machine or answer your fitness questions.

 

NUTRITIONAL COACHING
Nutrition plays a key part in reaching your fitness goals and with the help of a nutritional coach you will achieve these goals faster. Under the personal guidance of a nutrition professional you will lose weight, increase strength, feel better, have more energy while you learn important ways to help prevent osteoporosis and diabetes.

Our Registered Dietician Marci Cooper or our Holistic Nutritionist Helene Huot will design a special program just for you and show you how to implement your healthy new habits into your lifestyle.

INTRODUCTION TO WEIGHTS & FITNESS

HEART WISE EXERCISE
The Soloway JCC and The University of Ottawa Heart Institute have teamed up to offer safe and effective exercise programs for people with cardiac disease.

Exercise programs that carry the Heart Wise logo are most suitable for those with cardiac disease or those who may want to assure themselves that the programs are heart friendly. We are proud to offer Vitality Plus, Functional Fitness, Aquawaves, After Work Energizer, Movement Improvement and Post Stroke Aquafit all of which meet the Heart Wise criteria.

All Heart Wise Exercise programs:

  • Provide health screening for all participants
  • Accept participants with a known history of cardiac disease (with a physicians approval)
  • Allow participants to exercise at low intensity and have progressive options to increase intensity
  • Incorporate and encourage warm up, cool down and self monitoring
  • Encourage regular, daily aerobic exercise
  • All programs must have an emergency plan that is documented and known to all leaders, including current CPR certification, phone access to EMS and the presence of an Automatic External Defibrillator.

VITALITY PLUS
Share the life enhancing benefits of regular exercise and have fun with this low impact class combining cardiovascular exercises, muscle toning and stretching.
