Chinese Brush Painting
Designed for those interested in Oriental art. The course begins with brushwork and water control followed by learning the basic strokes of simple subjects found in nature, e.g. flowers, plants and birds. Blackboard sketches and the teacher-drawn models will be used. The teacher will provide individual student instruction.Please come with the following supplies:

Historical Walking Tour of Ottawa
Village of Rockliffe Park
In 1895 the streetcar enabled Ottawans to travel easily to Rockliffe Park to enjoy some leisure time away from the city. Thomas Keefer successfully planned the gradual growth of the MacKay estate which became the Village of Rockliffe – an area characterized by gracious estates and great beauty.
This walk takes participants through part of Rockliffe, outlines the history of the village, and looks at the mixed architectural styles of some of the homes.

Jewish Bereavement Support Group
In conjunction with Jewish Family Services Ottawa
Jewish Family Services Ottawa, in co-sponsorship with the Soloway Jewish Community Centre.
Professional group facilitators help participants look at the grieving process and how their loss has affected their lives. Issues are examined within a Jewish framework and include exploring ways of celebrating the Jewish holidays without loved ones. The group will meet once a week for eight weeks. Please note that a minimum of six is required for the group to commence meeting. Sliding scale available.

Mitzvah Knitters
Every Wednesday the knitters get together and create beautiful afghans, sweaters, hats and blankets for a variety of worthy causes including Hillel Lodge, The Children’s Aid Society, CHEO and manyothers. The wool is donated as is the knitter’s time and skill. If you love to knit join us for coffee, cookies and conversation. If you have some spare wool that you are no longer using please make a donation, we knit fast and we are always in need of more.
