Aquatics General Information
In an effort to keep our pool safe and properly maintained we must periodically close the pool for minor repairs. We will do our best to notify our members in advance and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
SALT WATER POOL
The Levitank pool is a 4 lane, 25m Main Pool with a beach-like ramp, therapeutic hot tub, shallow baby pool, slide, water basketball nets and patio lounges.
A salt water pool means a healthier swim without the itchy skin, burning red eyes or strong chlorine smell that usually accompanies a dip in the pool. The mild saline feels soft on your skin and it has been proven to be advantageous for asthmatics and allergy prone swimmers.
The pool office handles first aid and emergency response for the entire Soloway JCC and features a small Aquatic Pro Shop with discount prices on goggles, caps and other items commonly needed by our swimmers.
GENERAL POOL & HOT TUB SCHEDULE
The pool is open from the time the building opens to one-half-hour before the building closes (some exceptions). Swimmers will find one lap lane open at all times, except during group lessons and major swim team practices.
Our hot tub is also open from the time the building opens to one-half-hour before closing, except during the Women and Men Only swims (where access is restricted to appropriate gender).
NEW ADMISSION STANDARDS FOR CHILDREN
New standards have been issued by the Office of the Chief Coroner to assist lifeguards in maintaining adequate surveillance over the whereabouts and activities of young bathers while they are inside the pool enclosure.
- Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent, or guardian of at least 12 years of age, who is responsible for their direct supervision. The ratio of swimmers to parent or guardian is 4:1\
- Children under the age of 6 may not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for their direct supervision, with a maximum of two children for each parent or guardian
- Guardians are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.
